Vacant Executive Board Nominations

Local 2509 is currently accepting nominations for the following vacant Executive Board positions as announced at the most recent business meeting on Friday, May 20, 2016.  Nominations will close June 24, 2016.

Positions are as follows:

First Vice President
Second Vice President

Bargaining members are allowed to self-nominate for any position, or nominate another bargaining member for any position.  Members may only run for one position.  Position terms will end October 2017.  Local 2509 elections are conducted in accordance with the AFGE National Constitution.  In accordance with Appendix A of the constitution, the qualifications for candidacy for local office are as follows:

1.  Be a current member in good standing
2.  Be a current member for one year of an AFGE local, immediately preceding the closing of the nomination process, and
3.  Not be a member in any labor organization not affiliated with the AFL-CIO

If any position is uncontested (only one candidate nominated), the nominee shall be declared elected at the closing of nominations.

Nominations will be accepted anytime until June 24, 2016.  Nominations can be made by emailing your submission to  If emailing submissions, please include your full name, and the full name of the candidate (if not self nominating), this is necessary for record keeping purposes.

All nominations received via email will be posted here and on our Facebook page for members to view.  For any contested position, an election date will be announced here and on our Facebook page.
